Get ready for the trip of a lifetime! We’ll land in Naples and head to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Pompeii. After a night in Pompei, we’ll take a tour of this ancient Roman city, which was covered by the volcanic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. Then we’re off to our ferry to explore the magical island of Ischia! We’ll spend four nights on this paradise island, exploring the beaches, visiting the castle, hiking to wineries with farm-to-table food, and so much more.
You’re not going to want to leave Ischia, but the Amalfi Coast awaits! We’ll lodge in the town of Amalfi and visit Ravelo, Positano, Sorento, and other beautiful villages along the coast where we will taste wine, visit lemon orchards, sample olive oil, take a cooking class, and see the coast on a 3-hour a boat tour. Read on for more.
“Fabulous itinerary, great group. I liked that we stayed at boutique hotels and ate at local restaurants. Great mix of city, wine country and beach locations. All of our guides were fun and informative. Kiki did a great job of putting this together and guiding us through each day's events. Highly recommend.” -Suzanne C (Covey Club Basque Trip 2024)
The adventure begins! Board your flight in the U.S. and land in Naples the following day.

Individual arrival into Naples (direct flights from many US cities including BOS and JFK,). You will be picked up and transferred to our hotel, HABITA79. The city of Pompeii was destroyed in 79 CE when Mount Vesuvius erupted, covering it in over 20 feet of ash and volcanic debris. The city's quick burial preserved it for centuries before its ruins were discovered in the late 16th century. We’ll settle in at the 5 Star HABITA79 MGallery Pompeii. Free time to explore before we meet for a welcome dinner on the rooftop of the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll meet our English-speaking tour guide for a 3-hour private guided tour of Pompeii. Unlike anything in the world, the streets we’ll walk, and the buildings we’ll enter uniquely capture a moment in time, as the city never evolved past the fateful eruption.
With our local guide, we’ll tour the ruins for 3 hours and hear stories from the past. New rooms are being uncovered all the time, with much more of the city still resting underground. The artifacts tell the stories of how people lived their lives under the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, all the while unaware of its hidden danger.
We’ll stop for a group lunch and then head to our ferry which will take us from the port of Naples to the island of Ischia. Here, your first night in Ischia will be at your leisure before we get a good night’s rest to prepare for the days ahead.
